Pull over - time to pray.Pull - time to pray.

By Imam Zaid Shakir

One of the signs of the true faith is that it leads its possessor to demonstrate piety insofar as it can be, due to the recognition that God has the ability to see, hear and witness us at any time.

Therefore, for the righteous there is no difference in their public and private behaviour. Among the great tribulations for many people in our time is that they appear as saints in public, but in the privacy of their homes, they are tyrants and oppressors.

Such behaviour is totally unacceptable and a thus is taken in part by God. The Prophet, peace be upon him, warned us to be aware of God, both publicly and in private.

One of his prayers was as follows:

"O God!" I ask you to grant me reverence of you, privately and publicly. »

Imam al-Shafi ' i said, 'three most precious things bring their charity in case of need; being perfectly aware of God in camera; and speaking of the truth in the face one you hope to receive, or you fear."
